Please help me. So confused with my results.

So here’s what happened: a few days ago I went to a cheap privately owned lab where I live. Got a full checkup for everything. Including herpes.

Here are my results:

HSV 1 IgM : 0.3

HSV 2 IgM : 0.3

HSV 2 IgG: 6.2

Here’s why I think my results aren’t accurate and I would love your input on this:

1- I’m a virgin. I’ve had no sexual contact in my life ever. Never. Nothing.  So how could I possibly have gotten it??

2- they only tested IgG for HSV 2 and not for HSV 1. When I asked why, they said its because its common, most people have it so no need to test for it. Is this a possible red flag that I should not trust them??

3- when I asked them what type of test they used, Was it Herpeselect? Was it an ELISA? Was it a western blot? , they said no and when I told them to elaborate they responded with a “its just an IgG test.. it has no name”. Again, should I even trust them??

4- They were incredibly cheap.. I have no idea if thats a red flag or not but thought I should put it in this list.

5- I have had NO symptoms whatsoever! Nothing! I just took the test with the full package they were offering, but I never expected to get a positive result.

Please help me. I am so confused and depressed. What do you think I should do? Can it possibly be a mistake?

Hi there. I’m kind of curious if you are virgin why did you go and get a full screen for STDs? If anything being a virgen i would understand to get a HSV1 test because that is pretty common to pass without sexual contact. As for your results IgM i hear can be really unreliable. IgG is the way to go to blood test. I highly doubt that if it was cheap place that they would have used the western blot test. I think you should retest again if you had such a high value for HSV2 and being a virgin. But at different location if they’re cheap.
