I have been having these weird sores pop up. it's been ongoing for two years. They get crusts, bleed, and when the scab goes away, it creates a very significant white scar. They are recurring, and keep on popping up in the same general places. It's mainly my forehead and upper arms/shoulders. My nurse practitioner first said it was impetigo, gave me antibiotics, didn't work. Then she said eczema, gave me a a sample tube of Eucrisa, and that didn't work. They are painful and burn. Pictures enclosed. Anybody have any idea?
You need to see a dermatologist, it may be something easily treated, but it may be something linked to another health condition.
I agree. No point in a nurse trying to treat this when she clearly doesn’t know what it is. Ask for a referral.
Just because they keep coming back after antibiotic treatment, doesn’t mean it isn’t impetigo. You may need to intensively decolonise your skin and put antibiotics inside the nose to kill any potential colonisation. Also remove sugar from your diet, as staph thrives in these conditions.
