Hi,
I have tried a number of traditional methods to sort my ear issues, and I was wondering if the fantastic forum members had any creative ideas for me. Getting quite desperate now!
Very, very briefly my symptoms are;
1. Constant pain in my left ear when sudden or loud sounds are encountered [hyperacusis?]
2. Minute by minute having to ‘de-pressurise’ my ears when they feel full
3. Disorientated feeling every morning
I have seen plenty of ENT doctors over the years and tried to do some research online. I am currently seeing a specialist at Addenbrooke’s hospital [Cambridge, UK], and they have been asking me to try a number of things over the last few years. They say what I am experiencing is reversible, but yet, they don’t really appear to know what the problem is.
Any help would be very, very appreciated.
If you’re still reading, thank you so much and hope to hear from you.
Hi i dont knownif this will help but i use a otovent balloon to unblock my ears and release any fluid/mucus etc. You can buy them online for around £7 i got mine from amazon x
Thanks Rachel. I have ordered and will let you know how I get on.
Anyone got any other ideas? I was also thinking about creative ways of seeing different professionals about my issues. These NHS systems appear to meant to be broken.
Thanks.
So sorry to hear of your condition. It is so frustrating and frightening not to have answers. Loud low-frequency sounds are very much a problem for me. I also have to keep popping my ears through the day to equalize. Doctors can never find a thing wrong. I have a loud roaring motor like sound in my left ear with distortion. I hope you can find answers. Have you had MRI and CTA scans? I am trying gingko, b vitamins and low salt diet and very little caffine. Hope you will feel better.
