Shortness of breath is scary

hey loves, marry xmas

Im having weird heart symptoms. For like 3-4 months now.. im 18.  I have shortness of breath which sucks. Sometimes feel like im suffocating, for example right now. I also have chest pains in some points, never really the whole chest hurts, just like points.. i feel like my heart is too fast even though its around 80-90.. i cant do any activity since it jumps too high too quickly. I also feel like my blood pressure is high, always flushing and shaking for no reason. I got my blood pressure checked, nothing. I had holter monitor, nothing. I had 4x ekg, nothing. Been to er many times, nothing. Been prescribed xanax 0,25, doesnt work. Is this anxiety or is it worthy of further testing? Do you have any anti anxiety treatments and techniques i could try to do? Im very scared of heart attacks, my friend, same age as me died recently cause of that. He was a healthy kid..

Thank you ❤️

All sounds like anxiety: there’s a lot of research and literature out there for what to do or try but it’s really up to you to decide what you think will work. Xanax I wouldn’t consider something most people take as a preventative treatment. There’s a lot of supplements you could try, exercise, mediation, yoga, therapy, etc etc.

Sorry  you are  going through all of this. Your tests were all normal so you are  very healthy.  Your symptoms sound like millions of other people with anxiety. This includes myself. Your heart rate is perfectly fine, but with anxiety it feels like it’s beating faster. Shortness of breath or the suffocating feeling is also very common as well is pains in the chest area. Anxiety came produced hundreds of symptoms. Please remember that any symptoms related to anxiety cannot hurt you. They feel weird and scary but that is all they can do.

i’d like to share with you a great short meditation you can practice when you were feeling short of breath. This is very important in really helps a lot! Go to YouTube and search for “mindfulness breathing guided meditation 10 minutes“ it teaches you how to focus on the present moment in how to bring yourself back to this breathing technique when your mind wanders in becomes anxious.   This is something you can do anywhere anytime. I also listen to meditations for anxiety and sleep. Are usually do it when I’m laying down to sleep and I use earbuds for a better effect. But there are so many to choose from and I think they could really help you! There’s also some for panic attack where they guide you through it. When I listen to these meditations  they completely relax my mind, body, breathing, and any symptoms I may be having. Also, do things in your life that relax you, stay active and busy and get a little exercise. All these things make positive changes in your brain. Remember to laugh and smile .

i’m sorry to hear about your friend but at such an early age he or she most likely had a congenital heart defect rate from birth. Heart attack at your age is extremely rare. Like I said you’re fast heart rate and other symptoms will not hurt you it’s simply adrenaline that your brain releases causing that when you’re inches. You were going to be just fine.

so, get regular check ups with your doctor at least once a year, do things that relax you and keep you busy, don’t take life too seriously, listen to the meditations,  get some exercise even if it’s just walking, get some counseling if anxiety is too difficult to deal with on your own.  Those are the things that have helped me a lot. Don’t forget to enjoy your life! 😀❤️❤️❤️🎉🎊

Sorry about some of the grammar because I was talk texting. I meant to say that your rapid heart rate is due to adrenaline that your brain sends out when you are anxious. It also can cause your shortness of breath so that’s why it’s important to calm down you’re brain Is frequently as possible. I can slow down my heart rate in my breathing with the meditations I told you about in the first message.

Omg our stories are eat too similar. I was prescribed. 25 xanax & refuse to take it. Seen a cardiologist. 4 ekgs, holter, chest xrays, stress test, an echocardiogram. Just for skipped beats. I'm 16. However, i wouldn't worry about a heart attack. Our tests were normal. If you eat healthy, & excersise, you won't have a heart attack tgat easily at such a young age. I told my psychiatrist about my fear of heart attacks & he said i was too young for that. You don't know what underlying conditions caused your friends hearr attack. I also have been to the er 3 times. I once told the doctor that it felt like my heart was stopping because i kept gasping for air & she started laughing. Told me it was just anxiety. I've been told a good 6 times it's just anxiety. It effects the whole body & it will make you feel like your living in hell only if you let it. Change your mindset. You'll be fine. It's just anxiety.
