Hi everyone
One of my first symptoms was insomnia and after 7 years I still struggled with it. I have been taking a bunch of medicines ..the last 3 years I was taking quetiapine but despite taking this I wasn't able to sleep. About a month ago I decided to not take any more since it wasn't helping anyway. I try something natural like moztard seeds this actually helps me for about 1 week I sleep a bit more but short after I started to not sleep again.
my doctor (specialist in lyme ) he doesn't know what to do, he doesn't think my sleep disorders are related to my lyme disease .
Is anybody experiencing the same ? Any suggestions? I will appreciate if anyone can help me ..anything will be helpful I am really desperate.
Hi Andrea,
Sorry to hear you're not well.
I caught Lyme Disease last year and one of the things that quickly broke me down physically was sleep deprivation. I was unable to sleep, even though I felt exhausted and had shooting pains up my neck every time I dosed off. Felt like being tortured.
If you are able to, I would advise gentle exercise every day. Try to go for a walk or do some gardening. Chamomile drinks are good too before bed time and perhaps a bath. Keep off laptops and the TV for the last hour before bed and try reading a book, it settles the mind better.
Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.
Hi Andrea, sorry to hear you're having a tough time. I too have found insomnia, particularly early-waking, a real problem since getting lyme. But I've found some really good herbal tablets that will hopefully help you, they're called Asphalia. If you're in the UK, should be fairly easy to get hold of and they have helped me when I've really needed a good sleep. Good luck and do let me know how you get on.
Really thanks for the info. .I live in Denmark but I will try to find d this medicine online.
Thanks Caroline.
You know in 7 years I had try almost everything. I exercise like you suggested I also tale relaxing drinks, I practice yoga also breathing exercises before sleep and nothing has help.
But thanks anyway for your advice ..and I hope you don't struggle with sleep problems anymore. .because there is not way to improve with our health if we can sleep properly.
