soreness

Just read in net that you shoild not put dermovate cream on your genitel areas , 10 days ago doctor gave it to me to use on my vulva ?

I would say that it is not recommended for general use, but LS is a different matter and that normal rules don't apply. At a guess I would think that steroids generally would not be recommended for use there. You could check with a pharmacist though.

hello chinney, the internet can be full of scary things.  dermovate cream is the ONLY thing that works for me.  i have been using it for a year now and I would pay double for my tube.  good luck

I was reluctant to use it Chinney as I read the same.  I think the initial use won't thin the skin then we use it when we have flare ups only.  I don't us it much now it reversed mine from white to pink also it cleared up bad petetechia I had that was about an inch long on the minora.  I think so long as we are checked surely it's ok and better than not putting it on.

Thank you 😊, how much bicarbonate soda do you put in a bath plz x

Thank you x

Thank you x

I was told not to use it by the pharmacist, but both the dermatologist and the specialist nurse told me that is the treatment. It works for me, I use it twice a week, or more if I the soreness/itching flares up. The specialist nurse actually recommended using it abundantly. You could also try using Sudofed which helps too.

Hi Chinney.  I don't bath with bicard soda.  I find if I apply Dermovate 2 to 3 times daily I am ok and it's under control.  But I guess one could add 2 - 3 tspoons into a bath.    I also ordered EMAID cream from Amazon as I read it helps but I haven't opened my tub just yet.

Do NOT worry about thinning skin, LS is caused by thickening skin, therefore

Thinning is desirable. There was a link in a previous chat to a lecture by

Dr Goldstein on the net. He is a specialist on LS well worth finding and

spending an hour or so listening. If I can find the link k II will post it..

If you have been diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus, you must do as your doctor suggests.  Clobetasol twice per week has worked for me for 5 years with no damaging  of genital tissue.  A pinch of Baking soda or Borax with warm water in a spray bottle daily followed with a wipe of coconut oil keeps my LS well under control. My gynecologist thinks my success is remarkable.  But you do need the clobetasol!

all the best and do not despair!

Thank you 😊, I am seeing gyno at vulva clinic this morning, as I haven't been diagnosed with anything yet, but got alot of symptoms of LS & LP. Take care
