My age is 29, from the last 4-5 months I have been experiencing strange symptoms. All my joints are cracking, muscles are weakening day by day. It appears that the Flesh beneath skin is vanishing. Sometimes I feel mild pain while moving my joints. Mild nausea, previously I had bowel movement once in 3 days now it is on daily basis, it seems like the body is not able to properly absorb nutrients. I can see losse skin on my hands, arm pits etc. The strangest thing is that if I put flashlight under my hand then I can clearly see the veins, why the flesh had become transparent? Hair loss from all over body, especially from the scalp. 2 Months ago I gone through a number of tests and the only thing came up was Vitamin D deficiency (23 ng/ml). Montly dose of 200,000 IU was prescribed. Itchining on skin, it gets red too quickly. What all of these symptoms may meanm not that I do smoke about 10 Cigrates a day and slo take Tea 2 times a day. Furthermore I was not tested for Kidney and Thyoroid. Could there be any problem with these two?
Have you been diagnosed with ME/CFS? If so, thyroid is a really big issue, and you should get a complete thyroid panel done. I don't know about kidney. Ten cigarettes a day, of course, is not a good thing. But you knew that. Also, most tea has caffeine, which is another thing to avoid if you have this illness.
No I haven't been tested for this. One thing I do remember is that it all started after one month of when I was cured of FLU. During that time I had cough, green mucus in throat/chest, but I was cured from that completely. But after one month I started loosing muscles.
Sudden onselt of ME/CFS with the flu is very common. But you don't mention if you have the key symptoms for this illness, which are extreme fatigue, postexertional fatigue, sleep problems, orthostatic intolerance. Other symptoms include those you describe, like weak muscles, muscle and joint pain, dizziness, nausea. There is no test for ME/CFS. It's a diagnosis of exclusion, so you should have a complete blood panel done (maybe you've had this already). If nothing comes up, you should see an ME/CFS specialist, preferably an infectious disease doctor. And take it easy. Don't push yourself, or (if it is ME/CFS), you can greatly worsen your condition.
Putting a torch underneath the skin and seeing the veins is normal, I can do that. I sometimes get itchy skin and it goes red quickly never worked out what causes it. Pain in joints is not uncommon if you have arthiritis setting in and it can start at any age. Why do you think the flesh is disappearing, I suspect not. Daliy bowel movements is good, I would worry if you only then once every 3 days as that doesn't sound good. google vit d deficiency and some of your problems sounds like it could be related.
I would be more worried about what smoking 10 cigs a day is doing to you. Go see your dr and discuss your concerns.
Hi, I just read your post and found it very interesting because we have the same symptoms all my family. Are you from the UK? And how are you now?....do you have spots on your face? If you could get back to me that would be great
How did you resolve this i have the same symptoms and i am scared please respond
Hi any luck learning the cause of your illness?
Hiya just wanted to let you know that I think there is is some kind of mite on our skin and other symptoms are from weakness mainly vitamin d and calcium..... Most people have got it it is spreading and no seems to take notice
I have the symptoms but I don't have weakness in my muscles. Since January my muscles in my chest have gone down with sternum pain. It hurts almost all the time at different degrees of pain everyday. I'm cycling between one day pain in my chest and my arms a little, and another day a lot of pain in my arms and my chest a little. The joints in my hands are starting to hurt also lately. I am a carpenter. When I'm working it seems much better. I don't notice it and I do not feel weak. I've lost about 15lbs since the start of the year, dropped one shirt size, and 3 inches off my waist. My blood pressure seems better than it's ever been and my LDL is in the low range now. My CH50 was high and my doctor refferred me to a rheumatologist. He ordered more blood tests and they came back normal and wrote me off without a diagnosis. My thyroid and urine tests came back normal. I don't have any other issues except this sore muscle pain joint popping thing and weight loss. I have noticed on a "good day" my muscles feel like they're pumped like when I used to lift weights. They will feel like that all day and look like I just got done lifting for that entire day. But the next day these symptoms come back. I have an MRI coming up for my chest to make sure it's not a serious underlying condition. As far as my diet, I've cut the sugar out (about two years now) with foods that hardly contain it. No sucralose, aspartame, and stevia. I'm allergic to ragweed. Since I've taken out the stevia (protein powders) my headaches and "full feeling" in my head have gone away. Hope more people will post so we can try and figure this out...thanks!
Jacob can you tell me how did you solve this problem i have the same symtoms thank you in advance god bless you
Hey Angela, did you find out something!
Jacob, did you find the cause ? Please help !
I have the same symptoms. Mine started 1 month ago...most joints pop when move from my ankle knee shoulder to music wrists and even my hip. My main issue is now my knee has a soreness.
I had back issues for past year and went through discectomy on my L4 L5. Still have a sore back. I first thought my nerves irritation from my back is causing muscle weakness..but how does that explain my both knees? My issue was with right leg nerve being pinched...irritated..
I also have red lines developed around my noise and mouth. I think it is connected.
I have had blood in my stool which I noticed whenever I took spicy food which came with diarrhea.
I think it may be autoimmune disease? My blood test came all good though ( white blood cells count and etc
Any ideas...thoughts? Diagnosis??
Plz
Please provide updates
I have the same thing I can't sleep sometimes or sit down good from my muscle weakness and when I crack my joints I feel better that is from vitamin D Deficiency try to take your vit D for a month then start again once a day ![]()
Hi, I'm looking for some advice. My symptoms are so similar to yourself. Well, I'm 25 female, gave birth 8 months ago & still breastfeeding. Since the birth of my baby I seem to have picked up everything, firstly it was a week long bout of flu, then I got the norovirus, then more recently I had a sore throat & that's where the problems seem to have started. That was 4 weeks ago & since then all the joints in my body intermittently ache & crunch, I have dull aches from my feet up my legs & also in my hands & arms, i have had 'cramping' of the muscles pretty much all over my body but there's not really pain with it, I have also experienced a lot of pressure in my eyes, headaches, weight loss, feeling of weak, I also feel like my co ordination has gone awful & there's a feeling of being 'out of it'. Of course there's extreme tiredness too. I have had blood tests which have all come back fine. I have seen 4 doctors in 4 weeks, . Since I have been told the results were fine I have just been told I have anxiety & im 'making myself ill'. I get that having a baby & breastfeeding may add to the tiredness but it's all the symptoms that I'm concerned with, also I have no idea where now to turn!
Can anyone help me?
I've been reading up online about autoimmune diseases after pregnancy, how do I go about being tested or being taken seriously by my GP?!
Thanks
Grrrr! When will doctors learn to stop being so dismissive of patients! All I can tell you is that reading your post, it's possible that you've slidden into a case of ME/CFS. The sore throat is a red flag, and all the other symptoms also align with ME/CFS. Plus the fact that you had a bout with the flu. My ME/CFS started with the flu. This is a very common pathway into the illness. I then got a sore throat, followed by crushing fatigue. It sounds like you've had bloodwork to rule out other illnesses. So you're doing all the right things. However, 4 weeks is a very short amount of time in which to diagnose this illness. You've had a lot going on, and it is possible that with plenty of bed rest and pacing, your body will heal itself. So my advice to you is to do just that, though I understand it's hard with a newborn. Just keep in mind that your long-term health is at stake, and you want to do everything possible now to ensure that health. You might to give yourself a few more weeks of rest. Then, if you still haven't improved, see an infectious disease doctor or a rheumatologist, to investigate the possibility of ME/CFS. There is no blood test to check for this illness, but a competent specialist can diagnose you based on how you answer the proper questions. That is how I was diagnosed
Hi I would advise you not think too much about it and don't stress and very important to take a good multivitamin also b12 calcium vit d and stay away from sugar junk food do what you need to but don't over exhaust yourself
Hope that helps
Hello everyone, I was having the same symptoms, muscle weakness, joint pop and crack(mostly on my legs), dryness on my foot first and now on my hands. I am dealing with this for 5 years now, I am sure it's an infection and now set for colonoscopy to see what is going on. Get your abdomen checked well by the doctor as well as this can be life threatening. I will update you guys with what came up & go to a doctor today & tell him to take it seriously. Good luck
