Looking to strenghten my immune system . What would be the best vitamins to take when you have genital herpes.? Also any suggestions as to brands and what should i be looking for in the ingredients and what to stay away from . i also wanted to look into probiotics if anybody has one that they recommend it would be greatly appreciated . Just trying to attack this virus every which way . Thanks
Basically anything that keeps you healthy and your immune system strong is good. Vitamin c and zinc can possibly help. Also a good multivitamin and fish oil. Lysine is optional. Some people swear by it, but studies and legit HSV experts are less supportive. Eat a healthy and balanced diet and do some exercise. Quit any bad habits. It all helps.
I know there is a lot of controversy concerning which is the best vit c you should take because of all the fillers . Any suggestions as to what to avoid and how many mg would be good to start out with . Also any input on probiotics ? Thanks for your reply .
When I was first diagnosed, I was similar, trying to research which supplements are best, etc. In the end, however, I just settled with being generally healthy, and that seems to have helped. I don't take anything specific, nor do I worry too much about the contents, so long as the brand is decent. I honestly didn't know there was any controversy regarding vitamin c, lol. I take a 1000 mg effervescent tablet. Probiotics are good for you generally, so I take that, too. I eat yoghurt as well.
I generally eat pretty healthy I even have chickens for fresh eggs lol but where vit are concerned not to educated . When you go to the store there are so many to choose from you don't know even where to start . The same with probiotics . Any brands in particular for probiotics that maybe you can suggest . I like to get recommendations especially if I am paying good money for something so I don't get scammed into buying something that is just for company's profit . Thanks again greatly appreciate your replies .
Hmmm, when it comes to brands, I actually prefer larger well-known brands like Centrum, Roche, etc., so maybe I'm not the best person to ask if you don't like big companies! Also, where I'm based, there aren't nearly as many options like you get in the States. I take a mixture of brands, though, so don't buy all from the same range, which is probably not a bad idea.
