terrified...

Haven't posted for a while now I hope everyone is doing ok....been having a bit of a problem the past few weeks....I've been having shortness of breath....went to the doctor three weeks ago for it they sent me to do an ECG but my heart was perfectly fine...I'm so scared about this....I'm done doing 7 ECGS....and also a chest x-ray in November n still I'm feeling like my heart and lungs are failing....I'm starting to think I'm having kidney problems...this shortness of breath is really scaring me....my doctor put me down to acid reflux n anxiety.....but I honestly been thinking something else is wrong.....

Hey do you have acid reflux ..gerd..ibs? Just wondering I have that and it does make me short of breath. I also have had my heart checked many times and it's been fine. I think your anxiety is on high alert has something to do with the brain and gut. Try and relax I no it's so so very hard. Are you having any other symptoms?

kerian I have been having the same as you I have been struggling with shortness of breath for about three months now and ive been told on a few occasions that my breathing is loud I cant even walk up stairs with out being out of breath and I have felt the same way you have its horrible feeling like this and yes I have acid reflux too. I have just been increased on my citalopram and I am on propanalol which is a beta blocker I cam take up to six a day if I need to  so you are not alone my lovely IM sure there will be others like us that may come on here and help reassure you

Shortness of breath is one of the most common symptoms with anxiety. It's usually caused by hyperventilating. I've had it myself and like you have had tests that have turned out ok.

Have you tried breathing exercises, you can find these online. Once you get your breathing back to normal by doing breathing exercises and accepting that it is anxiety your shortness of breath will disappear.☺

Hello ...I constantly get this I find myself always pulling air in trying to fill my lungs up ! I used to get so scared but after numerous tests xrays etc I now don't worry if it happens and even though i can still do it on a regular basis I've noticed that if I'm busy or preoccupied I hardly do it but as soon as I think about not doing it I start needing to breath deep !! I do get very bloated and sometimes my mind does run away with me and I panic but I've gone from every day feeling like I was going to die to now just getting on with it and it's getting better ...I never believed it was just anxiety but when you read these forums and everyone has same symptoms it makes you think we can't all be dying for over years of these symptoms yet still all here 😆😆😆 ...be patient with yourself it will ease but it's very scary so don't punish yourself if some days it gets the better if you ..no one is perfect 😊
