The other shoulder..........

Is it or is it not my imagination, that the good shoulder can start hurting/playing up for no reason?? Is it over compensation/stress?? I haven't done anything, I mean I've read on here about people having a fall or something. I have not. Thing is it is the same pain, along the top of my shoulder, as the other one, but no comparison in pain. (Yet)

Why would it happen?? I use the arm all the time.

I'm so tired!!! X

Hi ,I read your email and that was me a year ago .

i developed a FS in my left arm ,they said it was too much swimming .

it was bad enough ,I had to stop doing the things I loved but I still managed to keep my job ,I am a Receptionist.

a year on my right arm strayed to hurt ,I went back to the docs and paid privately to see a Specialist to be told I was over compensating for my FS.

The pain increased and I went back only to be told I have FS in my dominant arm

.i don't have to tell you how bad it is !

I t does eventually get better .

this site has helped me knowing there are other people dealing with this .

Good luck and stick in ,it will pass x

yes, melanie, my right shoulder started playing up 6 weeks after the left one. it's not as severe to date. i'm keeping it 'active' - i.e. exercises to keep range of movement, some heat and massage.

Caitlin

My other shoulder often hurts... I'm so aware of it & frightened it will 'go' too. My dominant arm has FS, so i'm clumsy & slow with the other anyway, and I'm using it so much it's bound to complain!

I use the tennis-ball-in-a-sock technique to loosen up after work and take epsom salts baths when i can.

So far it has held up and not developed into FS... I can't imagine both freezing!...

Massage has helped me greatly, controlled my pain and allowed me to get my life back. I'm 6 months in and gaining some extension of movement. Little by little...

Keep your chin up! it WILL get better

Yes im 3.5 months with a fs on my right shoulder. And ive hurt my right weist trying ti do things without ysing my shoulder so twisting my hand erc., so am not happy with that. But ive noticed my other shoulder is sore every now and then. Fed up with it all. Want to get back to my active life, gym, walking the dog, wearing heels!! Im scared to wear heels in case i trip and fall onto my shoulder..i dont want that pain. Waitin for appt for hydrodilitation.....have 3 specialists/doctors arguing about it!!

Fyi...on nhs it costs 75.00. Private it costs 350.00. Ive been waiting 4 weeks for physio after steroid injection....which didnt work btw. Dont hold out much hope for physio as its just too painful i will probably whack someone! Lol

I have had several sessions · Ultrasound-guided hydrodilatation is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive treatment for frozen shoulder.

it really helped my shoulder.  It cuts down the swelling as well.

its worth a try! Hope it helps u as well. biggrin

that sounds v. sophisticated hope4cure. is it available on the NHS in the Uk?

Caitlin.

Yes check out the British Journal of sports medicine.

it has been a choice that works for me. I hope it does for you too!biggrin

Hope4cure. Yes its available in uk but docs are not promoting it or suggesting it. Dont know why...x

Hiya lovely....how are you doing today?

ive had a busy day with my daughter and grandson, but a lovely day.

Grandson's name is Nate and he is 5 months old, such a happy happy baby, he takes my mind off of the pain πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά

Thank goodness it's Friday I say....cause it's only a week today to my surgery 😊

Going out for breakfast with hubby tomoz morning and then off to shop for some Easter eggs. Hope your weekend is restful and relatively pain free πŸ˜€

i have had F/S in both shoulders already and the physio told me it can come back , or maybe your just using your other arm too much to compensate the bad arm , your doctor should help surely ?.

How are you doing Jim???

i hear it's still a little chilly over your way

Does the cold make your Pain worse....like ache more I mean

Hi Kerri. I'm so happy you had a wonderful day with Nate. Great name!! I have a Liam 26, Josh 24, Isabelle 16, Joseph 15, Donovan 6!!!! My Grandaughters are Lily and Daisy and they are 4. Making Donovan a very young Uncle!!!

Children do help with the pain, I agree. When I'm snuggling them, it definitely helps!!

Are you nervous at all about surgery?

Supposed to go to a christening this weekend, but not well enough. We are making an Easter egg banner with lots of their coloured Easter eggs!!!

I can't wait till they break up!! Xx

That made me smile when you said about whacking someone!!!! That's I how get. Probably best that I don't go out much!!! I feel the same about Physio. I'm so glad you wrote that as I thought it was just me. It seems to help everyone else!! Mind you they do say it will hurt. I feel worse after. They're not doing anything with me now till after MRI to look at my neck. My neck being the reason this developed.

I am very active too. Always get my face on etc. Actually can't remember the last time I wore makeup!! Just wear 'comfy' clothes, tracksuit/ pyjama bottoms. Big sweatshirts. It's easier to dress this way as can't be fiddling with zips and buttons etc!!!!! Feel lazy!!!

Morning Jim. Yes I've thought that. Sometimes I think my GP doesn't know what else to do for me!!! I'm like a burden!! Who knows!

Is your pain bad all the time? Did you see your doctor yet?

I have Craig 36, Taylor 33, and Chelseas 28. 2 boys and one girl. Nate belongs to Chelsea and Taylor has Miah 7, Huddson 4 and Willa 2.

Do Liam and Josh live close by, I'm presuming they arnt still at home.

lol.....yes, Donovan is a very young uncle....huh??

I love snuggles with my babies

No not nervous about surgery....well not yet anyway. Maybe as it gets closer next week I might be....but at the moment I wish it were tomorrow so I can just start the road to recovery. How is your cold virus....is that why your not well enough for the christening or is it your shoulder?

School hols don't really affect me because I don't have kids in school, but I understand it must be a bit easier for you not having to be organised to get them out the door on time. Its probably still chilly over there too I guess. What part of UK are you in??

Yes the boys live close by. When they're not working, they come home wanting me to cook for them. Do some washing!! Apparently it smells better!

Yes it's the virus that's stopping me. Mind you I think I'm secretly pleased, as my shoulder would start aching and I become irritable!

You will be fine with surgery. This time in few weeks you will tell me how so much better you are.

I live in Hampshire. Just watching the eclipse. Incredible. Xx

not sure about the cold making things worse , i am not to bad as long as i dont do any suddden movements or overreach , later today i am having cortizone injections , cant wait lol on a different note i just been outside to watch the solar eclipse we are having here , not a full one but about 97%

your not a burden , your just looking for an answer like most on here , pain for me is steadily getting worse though its not all of the time yet like my last other shoulder was , hope to get it sorted before it gets that bad , i am having cortizone injections , cant wait lol gotta see doc later today . its an eclipse here now maybe its a sign lol

Good Luck flying your way ( a long way at that ).......for your cortisone injection......hope it gives you some relief πŸ™

i know what you mean about sudden movements....deadly...huh??

Thinking of you while you have your injection 😘❌❌❌
