I am absolulrly convinced i have a brain tumour either in the brain or behind the eye,i have vision problems hazy vision double vision blind spot also i am getting constant jerking in head this has been happening a whole year ive seen loads of docs eye docs a neuro all dismiss it,bit this past 2 weeks im really ill vision is worsening and i cant stop jerking,my question is i had an mri scan of the head in april and a ct acan of the head last week both of them clear, would a tumour in the brain or behind the eye of shown up on these images?ive book in private to see a neuro on monday.im scared out my mind
yes an MRI and CT scan would show at least a shadow if there was anything there. I had both scans a few weeks ago for suspected blood clot in the lung. it came back a shadow but it turned out was only brusing. so if it can show a bruise I’m hoping our advanced technology would show a tumour or mass. x
Hi Wonderwall,
First I just want to say your not alone, I myself have been convinced several times in the last 2 year’s I have had a brain tumour and yet I am still here.
I am not going to tell you to try and calm down because if your like me then someone telling you to calm down doesn’t help at all. I’ve been Drs, Hospital and Eye specialists each one said I was fine and I still wasn’t convinced.
However I will offer you this advice, if you had a brain tumour and it’s been a year then you would either be dead or very ill by now.
The fact your well enough to be a forum writing about it says it’s not life threating.
Now I am not saying what you are going through is Anxiety and not an illness but it definitely sounds like it could be Anxiety.
Anxiety is terrible, it’s just as bad as any illness as it can imitate any symptom of any illness. And the worse you panic the worse it gets. Trust me I know!
Weird head feeling? had it!
Light headed? had it!
Weird pressure feeling? had it!
Feeling that something isn’t right in your head but can’t describe it? been there!
Blurred vision? had it!
Sinus/ear issues? had it!
Tingling/pins & needles sensation? had it!
Everyone thinking you overreacting? been there!
And the truth is I am still going through some of the above and every so often I still write posts on here convinced something is seriously up.
Recently I have started with blurred vision in my left eye and then over Xmas I have started with bad jaw ache that’s effecting my whole right side of my face, it hurts to chew, yawn, open my mouth wide etc, again I thought the worst and it turns out it’s TMJ, painful? yes! annoying? yes! BUT not life threating!
Do I still think it could be something more serious then TMJ? and I may have been diagnosed wrong? sometimes yes I do but you just have to trust the experts!
You say you seen numerous Drs, specialists, even had scans? and they have all come back clear? well take comfort in that! In this day and age specialists won’t risk their profession and jobs by just passing you off without doing the proper checks.
As for the blurred vision, still ongoing but I noticed it gets better the less I stare at computer screens and the less I worry.
I have also learned to try and rationalise things better in my head AND THAT’S THE KEY!!!
Tell yourself it’s been a year and your still here and well enough to be writing messages on a forum! If you had anything serious that won’t be the case!
Also find things to do that take your mind off it. I discovered that when I play on my ps4 or play games on my phone all my symptoms eased up - a clear sign they are being caused by anxiety - because my brain was too busy focusing on something else.
If your like me then reading this won’t automatically convince you that nothing is up but hopefully it will calm you a bit and AND THATS THE KEY TO BEATING ANXIETY! the more calm you are the better you feel!
Take care.
Cheers for the response mate,i started feeling unwell about september laat year then i started to noitce weird visual problems in both eyes its was like static vision you used to see on an old tv and my visual field is full of tiny black dots (not floaters i have them to) i went to opthamologists drs and a neuro none of them could explain it,i started to get tremors in the heas like constant intermal jerks and dizziness as if i was on a boat, then i had an mri of the head nothing was found, the symptoms faded apart from the vision issues, untill last 2 weeks,im wakin up everyday like ive been hit with a bat and also my eyes shaking (nystgmus) i went up a n e and they did a ct scan of my head, which showed everything was normal?my opthamoloigsts say my optic nerve is slighly pale due to trauna i had in the eye in 2012,my vision is like looking through dirty pint glass(especially in the elft eye)double vision the works,i am paying to see a neuro his monday,i suffer sith bad anxiety that i admit.im just hoping and praying that the ct scan i had and the mri in april would of shown a tumour
