Urolift / Anal Sex

Very personal info here guys but I have a major concern. I’m a gay man and I’m regularly on the receiving end of anal sex. Will this still be possible after urolift?

Yes definitely, the procedure is done through the eye of the penis.

Of course it will be!  I'm not a gay guy, but I also had a Urolift, 2 1/2 years ago, and remember the mechanics of it.  The little tabs are retained within the prostate; there is no penetration, as it were, of the bowels.  Although there will likely be some tenderness, you should be able to resume your usual activities after a couple of weeks...

Good morning    Yes it will be.  Everything is done through the front not the back.  But you should wait 4 weeks to start back with sex.  The doctor tell you 4 weeks because they want the clips to a here to the prostate.  3 1/2 years here.  Take care  Ken

Slincoln99,  I believe what you are asking is, will anal sex be safe for your prostate after the procedure.  I want to know the same thing. Like will anal sex move or undo the clips?  Please let me know if you ever found an answer.  Thanks!

I got 3 positive responses but was not 100% comfortable with their reasoning as to why it’s ok. I see a urologist in St. Louis next Wednesday, 9/12 and will be asking for sure. I’ll let you know what he says. Please let me know if you learn anything. Feel free to share your story if you wish. I can share mine.

Guy's.  Urolift has nothing to do with anal sex.  The clip are on the prostate and your ill not feel them if you do anal sex.  The doctor that does a finger test can't feel the clips either  Ken

Hi @Slincoln99, @scott16231 and all other mates, Could you share with us the urologist's response to your question? And, if you had the urolift installed, are you able to perform anal sex with normality? Although my problem is not in the prostate but the bladder neck (where Urolift is also suitable), I am also concerned about the possibility of damages caused like moving or undoing the clips. Thank you all for your help!@

If you look at urolift "dot" com /physicians you'll find a link to a document titled "Instructions for Use." This is the manufacturer's operating procedure the physician is to use. In it you will find a diagram illustrating where the urologist should deploy the implants. Specifically, if you are looking down the axis of urethra as the surgeon would do with a cystoscope, it limits placement to between 9 and 10 o'clock on the right lateral lobe and 2 and 3 o'clock on the left lateral lobe. This is to avoid the nerve bundles that run down the back of the prostate which happens to be where the posterior side of the rectum lies. In other words, the rectum lies at 6 o'clock from the same view.

I don't know how different the instructions for placement would be for the median lobe but there's no reason to think they would be in that direction.

correction, should have said anterior side of the rectum....

Dear russ_777, Thank you very much for the useful information. I have downloaded the document and I will read it carefully. I understand the implants will be separated from the rectum but I have no information regarding whether that separation is enough for anal sex practise. I understand that the prostate might be under pressure and depresure adn depression during that practise and I ask myself if it may affect the suture, the capsular tab, the end piece and the urethra. I imagine that you don't have information on this. I will surely ask my urologist, but I'm trying to gather more experience. Thanks again, D.

hi, i had urolift implants installed.. is it possible those implants slipped or moved or detached(one side) after putingt a finger in the annul to pleasure the prostate 2 weeks after urolift?

any info will be appreciated. thanks

i have the same question..

hello there ! im curious what info you found out from your urologist concerning anal sex and urolift.how has your overall progress been with the procedure ?

hello theredid you find out any information on if there are any issues of anal sex after urolift ?

Hello, how have you been with anal sex after your urolift? Any feedback would be gratefully received - I'm due to undergo a procedure next week. Thank you.

Any reasonable updates on your question? Clearly many of those who sent in a reply didn't understand it. The question is "Can Urolift clips be dislodged or otherwise cause prostate damage during vigorous anal sex (when the prostate is aggressively massaged)?" Any advice from recipients of Urolift or a Urologist? Thank you!

sex has been just fine my urologist told me the clips were located on the opposite side of the prostate from were the penetration occurs. absolutely no issues. in some ways the prostate seems more sensitive than before making for some incredible orgasms.

i saw this discussion before I had the Urolift Procedure performed. i saw all the questions posed. Being a gay man myself, i was concerned about some of these things. So before I had the procedure, I asked my Doctor UP FRONT and bluntly .. 1. You can safely have gentle anal sex 10 days after the proceedure. You may resume anal sex without conditions after 3-6 weeks. Again, this is provided your procedure went without problems. Turned out my procedure was nearly text book and without issues and within 4 days I had no bleeding in my urine. You more than likely will have frequent soft stools after it's done because they do not want you to strain after the procedure until your healed fairly well. I used two gel type ice packs and tried to keep my taint area cold to help reduce the swelling and promote healing. one to use while the other was refrozen. This is a painful recovery. Everytime I urinated I felt as if I had a burning pipe leaner coming out if my penis everytime I urinated for the first 7 days. I was given pain meds and meds to prevent constipation so, it can be tolerated. Due to my condition I had to fave extra implants on one side due to a flap the prostate was growing that blocked my urinary tract, hence my difficulty, urinated. Prior to the procedure I also had difficulty climaxing. Even when I fully emptied my But

bladder. The implants took care of that! After 2 weeks I was in control of my own bladder and my own orgasms. i also had difficulty getting and also keeping erect beforehand. I used Viagra before the surgery. I have haven't had a need for it after. This is my case and recovery not everyone will be the same as mine. I also liked the fact that this procedure can be redone in the future if necessary. If anyone has any other questions I'll be glad to answer if I know it. I wanted to be sure beforehand so, I asked a lot of questions! i enjoy sex and didn't want to risk losing that part of my life. This procedure helped me emmensly. No more dribbling, starting and stopping, and running to keep it from going down your pant leg. No more of those every hour, two hours up in the middle of the night. it took at least 2 weeks before my condition changed for the better. But, it did.
