Boy where to start? I suffered a spinal cord injury 20+ yrs ago that left me paralyzed from the waist down on my R side. I have end stage liver disease & am awaiting a possible transplant. ( I believe this was caused by over medicating me for chronic pain). Due to the multiple health issues that come with liver failure it is a less than 18% chance of survival of any surgery but I had a reoccurring umbilical hernia that became infect so last week I went under the knife to have it repaired & the surrounding tissue removed(or I would have died a slow death by sepsis). I was so happy to be alive I felt really damn good). I went to my F/U with my amazing surgeon two days ago.
But today I woke bloated, in pain &. Nauseated.. tonight I’ve vomited & now my abdomen feels on fire but no signs of infection & temp is 99.8.
Has this or something similar happened with anyone else?
Adjust yourdiet and let it settle if possible... it may be healing..it may be something else.... you defo need a major checkup...
And one important thing. I wish you speedy recovery! And i am sure that you gonna make it.
Well I called my surgeon & spoke to his oncall college what a waste! I was told to go to the bigger hospital an hour from home to the ER because I definitely needed scans. I did tell him that I did not think it was a surgical problem but ascites due to liver disease & that my dr had been very concerned about this possibility ruining his hard work & md ending up septic. The ER dr was a joke! I waited over two hours to be seen & in the waiting room hospital staff slammed into my w/cbwith another chair with no apology & a smartass remark when I said “ geez I just had surgery lady” when no apology was forthcoming my father was furious. Then the doc was a woman I saw a few years ago at another hospital & for someone who thinks they know it all is an imbecile! Two years ago she prescribed a medicine that bottomed out my platelets (which are very low to begin with) & when I said I recognized her she figured out who I was because my dr lectured her on contacting a specialist if she doesn’t know any better & reprimanded her & had her transferred. I then had my scan was told within the hour they’d come with results, 4 hours later she came back said it’s not surgical so go home & make an appt to be drained! Grrrr! The IV was removed I left with blood dripping down my arm & decided to suffer at home in conform & take my on meds. I see my dr tomorrow
