I have now got a private appt with and endo specialist as once again my stomach has swollen so I look 9 months pregnant. It is not water retention, gluten intolerance all these have been checked as well as fibroids and ovaries. I am on the treadmill of feeling well for 3-4 weeks and then the levels drop. Will this ever end
Hi Michelle
I know since I started to wait 1 hour after taking levo and then taking vits 4 hours later has helped with the bloating.
Chhristine
Hi Christine
Its not normal bloating if that makes sense. I get it for 5-6 weeks and then it goes. Returns again maybe 6 wks later and happens over night with no warning.
Hi Michelle
I am new to this forum trying to find out things to help with my problems. Could it be linked to a vitamin deficiency or food allergy?
Christine

Hi Michelle
Sorry to hear about the bloating.
I am a novice to the thyroid gland really but I assume that your private endo appt is coming up soon.Other people on this site are more experienced and knowledgeable than I am.I saw Christines response where what she does is helping with the bloating..
I have not yet been seen by endo surgeon so have not started any treatments as of yet.
I am worried in case thyroxine cannot be prescribed bbecause of the risk of interactions with other meds plus contraindicated due to palpitations and cardiac problems as thyroxxine appears to cause arrhythmias and paalpitations. I am also taking warfarin.

I feel sure you wil come across
Kind regard Jean
Hi Michelle
you have put a smile on my face this morning
Christine
Hi Michelle,
i have suffered for seven years with a very swollen stomache and look pregnant! i have never associated it with thyroid, this is the only part of my body that is fat! would you recomend i see a endo , and if so what are these specialists?
Hi all I know about endocrinologists is that they specialise in hormones. The guy im seeing has a particular interest in thyroid conditions x
Hi Michelle, some people react to the fillers in the levo tablets. You could ask your doctor to prescribe a different brand (you have the right to do this) and see if that makes any difference.
Dear Michelle:
I am an RN- Nurse and live in the USA. I would say the bloating could have something to do with the liver or an allergy. Our bodies are complex and your liver has to work to detox your body everyday. If the liver is under stress and or has any disease to it, you could see abdominal bloating. you need to be examined of course.
I personally could not absorb LEVO and my body is unable to take T4 and make T3. I would cramp and then have loose bowels, etc... Levo is T4 and has to convert to T3 and also the medication could have inert filllers in it, which you could have a reaction to that or the LEVO.
Let us know what your Endo says, keep us posted. XO Shelly
