I had my gb removed 8th June. I would like to go on holiday 2nd week in august. Do you think this would be possible ? Anyone knows ? Please.
I'd ask your GP and your holiday insurance company. If it was laparoscopic surgery, you're recovering well and having no issues it will probably be ok, but check first.
Hi Hedy, I had my gallbladder out min March and I flew at the end of May. It was a 2 1/2 hour flight which was ok. Unfortunately I had other issues so I wouldn't have wanted to be in a plane for any longer and I dislike flying anyway but my husband did it as a treat as we'd been through so much this year. It was lovely to get constant warm weather and not do the mundane things at home so it really does help your recovery.
To be honest it all depends on how you feel, you should be fine by then. Just be careful and don't over do it, you'll still need rest and relaxation. I did take basic pain relief with me such as paracetamol but anything with codeine you will need a letter from your gp as its a controlled drug.
I hope you're going somewhere lovely and enjoy the break. Let me know what you decide. Take care x
I'm flying to Florida less than eight weeks after my gallbladder surgery, with my surgeons blessing. He is encouraging me to take blood thinning injections, day before, day off and day after surgery. Same on way back. My surgery was 4th July and I leave on August 30th.
Thankyou I had surgery 8th June I should be ok by the 10th august then. Goodie and enjoy your trip. 😉
Thankyou 👌
Thankyou Katherine I would like to go to Germany to see my aunt it has been a long time since seeing her. 😊
I had my gallbladder removed on 7th June and flew to Spain on 3rd July, I just declared the op when buying our insurance.
