Hi I'm new on here and very anxious about blood test results. I had a routine well womens check up and had a blood test to check cholesterol as never been checked before. GP called to say Alt level was raised and to repeat test after 1week, she also asked for gamma in second test, ALT still raised although had gone down slightly, gamma level also raised, I am not a huge drinker, maybe 3-5 a week on averedge and had no alcohol in week between tests. I had DCI breast Cancer at the end of 2011 caught in early stages I had lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I have appt to see GP next Thurs but am worrying myself sick that I have Liver Cancer. Anyone had similar blood results?
Hi Blythwood, try not to worry. Are you taking any drugs? My ALT took on a life of its own and it was because of the drugs I was on. My Basophils had also gone which ever way they shouldn't have gone but the last test was back to normal.
I'm glad they caught your breast Cancer early.

Hi Mrsmop, no I am not on any drugs, but 3 weeks previous to first blood test I had a truly terrible cold and took paracetamol constantly for about a week, wondering if that may have an effect. My Alt was up by not quite as much 2 years ago but was down to normal 2weeks later. Can't help but worry now, got myself in a tiz and need to get a grip! Thank you for your reply.
Paracetamol did it for me the first time. The latest was a mixture and it was 53. My GP told me he might start worrying if it went over 100
