Hi to all my fellow hippies, just a quick update, I'm off to the hospital 2moro for my pre opp medical, god I hope they take me in soon as the pain is now unbearable, much worse than the left one ever was before surgery, I'm wondering now if I'll ever get my life back, there's only so much reading and baking one can do!! anyway good luck to all of you at whatever stage your hip journey is,
Hi Lynne ....good luck, dear ... exaggerate your problems, or maybe you don't even have to - of course you will get your life back ... even better than before !!! imagine with no pain ! the ball is rolling - hang in there - big hug
Same as you Lynne need my left done as soon as possible or I just wont get out to excersise the right that was done three weeks ago, trying to roll one operation into the other but seing Surgeon on 23 June that will be a 5 week checkup and resasessment, hope to get back to work in October...Watching your posts.
Hi Lynne! Good luck hope you will get a date soon. Where are you having the op done? I was in the Nuffield but on the NHS! I am 12 weeks post op and even now not great as the top of the hip is stiff! Hope gentle swimming will help! I am also a carer for my hubby!he too has oa of spine, hips and knees and is severely sighted and deaf! So not much chill time for me! Sorry rant over! Regards Amanda
I am in the same position as you the pain in my right hip and my right knee is really so much more than ever my left was. I hope you get sorted out soon. I am hoping they will sort me out in September but if they make me wait longer than that I will kick up such a stink. It is so cruel to make us wait when others have had both done at the same time.
I am in central Scotland, I'm going back to the golden jubillee hospital in glasgow, it was opened in 2002 as a private gospital, but the scottish health board bought it in 2006 and it's now the main hospital for national waiting times in Scotland, it's a great place with a fancy conference centre and hotel adjoining it, apparentley it's the centre of excellence for hip and knee surgery, I had my first opp in nov. last year, I had a few little aches and pains, also some stiffness, but this has all gone now and it's just fine, I just hope the other one turns out the same, it should do as I have the same surgeon.
I hope you will feel the benefit of your new hip soon, it must be really hard for you with your husband being so dependant, wishing you all the luck and health to both of you,
