Anxiety is making this so much worse. Is this globus

Three weeks ago I got a sweet lodged in my throat, I tried to wash it down with water as soon as it happened but the feeling of the sweet stuck still remained and has remained for the past three weeks. I've spoke to several doctors who reassured me I'm ok and had a camera up my nose and down my throat and nothing was found. I have lost 2 stone due to not eating and as I am already quite slim its not been a welcomed weight loss. I cant eat at all and can barely drink as the sensation is so uncomfortable. It feels like I have a ball of mucus at the back of my throat which I can feel constantly and worse when I swallow. I tried to eat a biscuit soaked in tea over a week ago and as soon as I felt it go down my throat my breathing paused and I felt myself about to choke. It also feels like the food is getting stuck as it goes down and its piling up onto the mucus sensation that I already feel. Has anyone else felt these symptoms? I already suffer with my mental health and this has caused it to decline drastically. I cant lose any more weight, my depression is at its peak and im struggling to manage. What will make this go away

I used to have that, even just thinking about it brought the sensation back. I overcame it by not swallowing unless I was eating. It is also tied to anxiety, so my best advice would be to acknowledge that there isn't anything there, and hopefully it will pass within a month (probably a lot less than that). Try and occupy yourself with anything that will keep your mind off of it or talk with someone to distract yourself. I've always been a hypochondriac so I know the brain is capable of some pretty unsettling and/or annoying sensations. Anyway, I hope you'll get better really soon. You're not alone in anything, just remember that...

Its truly awful isn't it. I've already had it for three weeks and don't see it going any time soon. How did you cope with eating? I haven't eaten a single thing since this happened. I feel I'm choking when I try to even just have a nibble of something, it makes the feeling of something there worsen and my breathing stops and I feel the mucus sensation go into my windpipe kind of if that makes sense? Thank you for the advice. I feel so alone

hi amber i have this! im convinced its post nasal drip though as i find it worsens whenever ive been outside. i have a sore throat from always swallowing, which makes me have a little cough which makes me paranoid about corona. i think its anxiety well, i know it is. have u tried taking any diazipam or anything to see if you feel better when your calm

Hi Katie, sorry you're suffering. Did it start from getting food stuck? and do you manage to eat? and I haven't tried Diazepam yet, I'm going to ask my gp for it in suspension form

no not after eating, just randomly started. i feel like theres phlegm in my throat always x

Its horrible :( do you manage to eat ok? X

Its horrible :( do you manage to eat ok? X

i can eat. do you drink a lot? distract yourself while eating. watch tv or play a game on your phone x

I'm managing to drink just struggling to as it feels like im going to choke and thanks for the advice when ive attempted to eat it feels as if the mucus sensation I have moves into my windpipe and I find myself coughing. I dont know if thats normal x

its your mind playing tricks on you. that isnt possible. if there was anything stuck in the windpipe for this amount of time you would definintely know about it. if you dont wake up at night with it, and you breathe nornally when you sleep- you know its anxiety

I dont think its stuck in my windpipe but when i swallow i feel the mucus sensation go from my esophagus to my windpipe which causes me to cough and have to clear my throat if i try and eat :(
