Always had GAD but the last 12months it has been out of control affecting my appetite, fibromyalgia and ibs. Is anyone experiencing the same.
Tried various antidepressants but with no success. My Psychiatrist said I am suffering from emotional distress, the fibromyalgia is really getting me down and is making me sensitive to all meds.
Just having to force food down and not enjoying it
Would love to hear from anyone
Sorry, what medication are you on currently?
The only meds I am on for anxiety is lorazepam 1 mg a day..I have tried
citalopram twice, pararoxetine and duloxetine, I was on citalopram for 10 years, but stopped working. Had bad side effects from the others, my
Psychiatrist decided that I should try a holiday from them because I was getting all the side effects and non of the bebefits because the fibromyslgia was mzking me very sensitive to them.
Having the same trouble because when I went for a diagnosis for the fibro had a chest x-Ray, and discovered I had an infection on the lung, and want me see a Chest Specialist, in the meantime my Dr has given me amoxicillin 500 mg x3 times a day, and it has sent my aniety .soaring,
He said it would and to take the lorazepam twice a day, the antibiotics finish tomorrow. I was leading a normal life 12 months ago with anxiety under control, and mild fibromyakgia. Now I feel in a nightmare.
Sorry to ramble on, does this mske any sense to you
i do take atenolol for blood pressure, and eye drops, The side effects on these antidepressants make my anxiety go up. Guess I am not in a good place at the moment.
Thanks for reading
Pat
Well, when it comes to the lorazepam, you'll only be given them for a short time anyway due to their dependance qualities so my advice would be to try and get through the chest infection first before looking to alternative forms of therapy to treat the fibromyalgia - such as CBT.
Hi Patricia. Sorry you're not feeling great at the moment. I'm sure you'll feel a bit better once the lung infection has cleared up.
Emotional distress can be exhausting so no doubt with the infection as well you're bound to feel a bit down (not to mention the fibromyalfia and ibs to deal with).
Look after yourself and concentrate on getting over the infection, then you'll feel stronger to start tackling the other things.
