Anxiety or sinusitis?

Hello,

So for the past year I have been struggling with what I thought was sinusitis until my CT scan came back clear. Basically everyday, I can feel my sinus's throbbing with pain, just a fullness and pressure feeling in my cheeks. I have headaches constantly and a lot of fatigue, some mornings worse than others and I can barely stay awake even after a solid 8-9 hours sleep.

It normally clears as the day goes on and I keep getting repeat infections. It's making my life hell and my mood really low as I am constantly just groggy with flu like symptoms and tiredness. No amount of antihistmanines or nasal sprays have helped. I have seen 4 ENT's and been on 4 courses of antibioatics in the last 5 months!

My ENT has said I need an operation to fixed a deviated septum but in his words, probably won't help fix my issue. whateve is causing this constant inflammation of my sinus.

My doctor now thinks it's anxiety manifesting itself in the form of sinus problems. I get some crazy head pressure, and scary headaches, dizzines and eye pain to (swollen eyes) as well as red cheeks (rash)

My jaw also cracks with every movement, sometimes very loudly and painfully.

All these symptoms are to physical for me to accept it's just anxiety. There is something obviously not right. I do have a problem with panic, I can't disput that and I have been bad lately but I start to settle throughout the day as I clear out and ease pressure - when it does, the dizzines drops and breathing improves. Normally I can only clear by constantly coughing mucus up (sorry).

My doctor wants to start yet anothert SSRI after my last 2 have failed to take to and I have currently refused as I can't bare the side effects ontop of this sinus issue.

Anyone know of anything I could do to try and gain any relief from this daily torement?

Currently working on diet and elminating wheat / milk..

Thomas having bad anxiety plus sinunitus is living hell.tell me 1 thing do you get any dizziness? my sinus's give me head aches in front.fullness one Dr said I had vertigo. with bad sinus/s keep your bedroom ventilated, mine is closed up. because i have A/c in one window and other window wont go up.also i am a mess in the morning cant barely get up i wake up at 6am heart pounding.I dont think its anxiety. and stress you would have good days with it  my ears feel up head ache dizzyness.fullness in head. keep me posted. I went to a sinus doctor was given nasal drops they helped a little ok just read in morning Im coughing mucus and myv stomach is nauseated have to bring it up.please see a ears nose and throat Dr, but one that will listen to you i have all the same symptoms it morning now. I hate mornings,

I can relate. Some mornings I can't lift my head off the pillow though the heavy feeling. I get neck pain and jaw pain a lot as well.

I am also dizzy 24/7 which I keep getting told it's anxiety but I can feel the pressure when you get really congested. I can hear this roaring tinitus which makes me panic. It's always worse in the mornings and at times, it feels as though I am drunk. I use to love cycling and just can't manage it now! I am only 26

My ENT has sent me for balance tests which confirmed I had poor balance. I am getting physio now apparently to help as it could be positional hypertension. But no matter how much I stress, it's this sinus congestion making me hazey, dizzy and tired, no one listens!

The ENT's have been literally useless and that's being polite. I literally had to argue with one arrogant doctor when he just strugged and said it's allergies, it'll pass. I said what for 14 months?!!. Nothing has changed in my life, I don't come into contact with anything I have an allergy to either! (tested as well).

The doctors keep thobbing me off which antidepressants, and the ENT's aren't interested. It's a bad circle to be in

The only thing that has helped so far is a netti pot to relieve some of the congestion / pressure.

Check and be sure you dont have an auto immune issue with a rhumatoid doctor. Ents suck. Need one who specializes in the sinus. And see a maxiallry surgeon. Thats what im doing and im still in the process. You sound similiar to me.

almost funny or criminial they throw higher doses of AD at you rather then do their jobs. Im in the usa half the drs here suck and are so lazy so you have to really check their staius and schooling before you go. It can easily take a few drs before you find one thats decent. Probably also see a nuerologist.
