Fibro Fog?

Hello all Just wanted to share something..so far all my fibro symptoms have been physical, all the usual pain symptoms and lack of sleep. I know I get my words muddled up and am getting more forgetful and clumsy, but had a horrid thing yesterday evening. I couldn't remember if I had eaten dinner, went to bed early and had all these waking dreams and I sort of lost the plot. Just couldn't remember where I was, so difficult to explain but I felt quite scared about what was happening. Feel better this morning and putting it down to sleep deprivation. Can anybody else relate to this? Would really appreciate some comments. Many thanks.

HI Sarah, just wanted to support you, I have never had symptoms that bad but have had weeks of bad sleep which really makes you feel disorientated so so awful, the past 6weeks have been listening to sleep tapes, the paul mckenna tape downloaded in apps, its brilliant and really seems to have helped, I wish you a peaceful night sleep tonight best wishes, christine

This could also be symptoms of Perimenopause depends on how old you are. It can start in your late 30s.

possibly sleeping next a router, elctronical devices, those electronic waves like 5g do u harm.

Also maybe switch to keto (the diet) if not doing so, excess sugar causes all the brain fog and muddled thinking.

Hi Christine Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes I think 'disoriented' pretty much sums up how I feel at the mo. I will be buying the Paul McKenna tapes as soon as I finish here. Thanks again, and hope you continue to sleep a bit better. All good wishes Sarah

Sarah Fibro fog is very real. I often get like this. Can't remember short term memory, sometimes I find I'm just looking at something figuring out why I came to this point, and getting frustrated because I can't remember. This is worst when I'm anxious about something or stressed. Perhaps start writing a diary to see when these things happen? I know it helps me. But Sarah you are not alone.

Hello Heather Thanks for your reply, I am 63 so it's not great going through hot flushes/sleepless nights and all that again! Hope your day is going well. Best wishes Sarah

Hello Chris Many thanks for your reply. We don't have a mobile signal here (middle of nowhere), just have a lap top in the living room, so that's not an issue. Am very interested to hear what you say about Keto though. Have been toying with the idea of doing it, but am not a big meat eater, so not sure how I could get it to work for me. However, I completely cut out all wheat/gluten 1 week ago and am just wondering if this is some sort of reaction? Hmmm....interesting. Hope you day is good one and thanks again, Sarah

Oddly enough Sarah all of my symptoms to date have been physical too, and of course the associated anxiety and worry, however I have been lucky that the brain fog they talk about is not there. When the anxiety eases I can focus quite well on matters and it takes my mind off the horrible other symptoms. However sleep is a problem. The old tired but wired feeling when I first get to bed and then broken sleep. I was on melatonin for a spell which helped. Vivid dreams are also a feature....which frequently wake me up!!!

Bless you..thanks for your help. This is the first time I have found this horrible illness a bit scary. So your support is really appreciated. Will think about writing a diary, feel a bit too frazzled just now, but it's a good idea. Thanks again and all good wishes. Sarah

yes i have had it a few times on various things like some time i will forget if i have taken my fluoxatine i did that 3 days in a row,or someimes i will forget how many spoof fibronfuls i have taken,it can also come on if you are reading a book, you can forget if you have read that page,so you read it againor like i did the other day i was going to put a lemon and lime water on my cereal instead of milk,i alsomfine will effects my spelling, you think you are going nuts or crazy.judith from southport at the moment i have had 3 bad days of fibromyalgia i have got 23 symptoms the latest being the burning in my shoulders

Hi Charlie Thanks for your note. This whole dream thing is a big deal isn't it...! I really feel I am awake and actually doing all the stuff in my dream, so weird (and draining). Will look into melatonin. Thanks again, am finding this forum really helpful, it really is a horrible thing to live with, isn't it? Take care and best wishes Sarah

the only problem i have with sleep is i go off with no problems, but things are happening during te night,i am fining that my tablet is on my bed, also my mobile phoneis on the bed,and even my book that i am reading, also i t ,and fallen in my think i may be sleep walking, and also falling over.and only getting 3 or 4 hours sleep,so he has put me back on phenegan, and it does work, the maxium dosage for me is to strong,so i only taken 2 x 5ml which is just right.judith from southport

Oh poor you 23 symptoms! The burning pain in my shoulders is a biggy for me, it never really goes away grrh... Must admit, I really thought I had lost the plot yesterday, so thanks for sharing and hope you have some better days soon. Take care, Sarah

good luck sarah, really hope you start to feel better, I Am going into hospital tomorrow they are going to moniter my sleep, saw a lovely consultant who thinks he maybe able to help me with the pain at night and I am more than happy to try anything that might help, so fingers crossed x

Hi again, well that sounds promising, good luck! I wonder what they will come up with? At least you have someone on your side and being proactive, that has to be a good thing. Hope all goes well x

nah thats not enough, i went clean vegan for a long tome Excess Sugar causes brain fog anxiety is also another symptom of lactic acidosis, bodies creating too much lactate

THEY are the main foods that can trigger off fibromyalgia i don,t have sugar in anything at all,and i am allergic to caffiene, everybody is different with food and allergies. specially glutensome friuts and veg potatoes, and tomatoes i am also allergic to sweetcorn and pastery plus i don,t eat tomatoes anymore ,i have lost alot of weight about 6 stones but it does,nt matter what i eat that does,nt trigger of my fibrmyalgia it seams to me,if i i am just trying to shop.or have a few appointments like i have on wednesdas and thursdays. It does,nt help with the other problems i have got which is clonus.neck and lower back, both hands, feet calfs, everything that i pick up all feels very heavy, dropping things and losing my balance , judith

Can i ask what your main macros look like: Like daily fat? protein? carbs?

even if you avoid nightshades and do things sensibly, eating lots of healthier grains and green vegetables can still be too much sugar.

Reason why keto is so effective and bang on is because its limited and your forced to use fat instead of sugar,

Beef fat, liver, beef are excellent choices.

I have lots of compassion for people suffering, and hope they ease symptoms and eventually reverse if possible.

It sounds like you'll need a very disciplined diet and muscle relaxation type of protocol,

Things like chamomile tea and green smoothies is what i used to think health was, but after doing keto macros and going to ketovore ive felt true anti inflammation in joints, muscles and anxiety.

Sounds like your suffering with excess inflammation which is damaging joints, muscles and its contributing to muscle stiffness and vertigo like symptoms, things like sauna/steam room, cold showers, yoga, endurance training will give your body goodness as well.

i feel better than i did on wednesday, thursday and saturday,i have put my pain patches on,taken my cocodamol 30/500 and put voltarol all over my arms and hands, plus my quads and calfs, still got the burning ,but i have just put my icebag on it and that is helping. thank you judith
