Focal Intestinal metaplasia of the oxyntic mucosa

Hi can anyone help me with Focal intestinal metaplasia and chronic gastritis. I was recently diagnosed with this but I have negative glandular dysplasia. This was all done after I did the 14 day h pylori antibiotic therapy.  The metaplasia was negative when I did my first endoscopy but I was positive for hpylori.   Now with my follow up endoscopy they found the IM but negative on hpylori. When it’s focal does it mean it’s ok or with no dysphasia does it mean it won’t turn to cancer? Should I get a second opinion? Please help.

Hi Mrchuuk

'Focal' means a modest increase of intestinal carcinoma.....cut down on high salt intake, smoking, high alcohol consumption......my best wishes to you...

Thank you. I thought “focal” means it’s only in one place but I could be wrong. I’m waiting to meet with my GI on the 26 hopefully I can get a follow up endoscopy just to make sure it was caused by the joy Lori eradication. Because my first endoscopy wasn’t showing focal intestinal metaplasia.
