How Is It Even Possible That My Body Is Producing Adrenaline 24 Hours?

Good afternoon all.

I’m 25 male and I have suffered anxiety for over a decade but was always able to manage it well (although was an anxious type), had a lot of struggles but also good times and some periods I was quite chilled out.

Ever since graduating Uni and starting work life combined with some recent traumas, my body produces adrenaline upon waking all the way until I go to bed (feels like a motor is continuously vibrating in my kidneys and abdomen area along with almost a sharp acidic pain and it lasts.. all..day..long. The only minutes of the day when I feel minor relief are just before bed (feel like by “the motor literally ran out of battery” but as soon as I wake up the same he’ll starts again.

I’ve had bad times but was generally a very happy chap, now am suffering greatly.

Please reassure me.

It's crazy how the body works when it feels like you're in danger isn't it? It's pretty fascinating just how much your body and brain can put up with honestly.

Nonetheless, it is just anxiety and definitely possible for that adrenaline to be running constantly. You have to understand that this is happening because you're dwelling on it. Physically relax yourself, unclench your stomach, your legs, whatever is tense. And from there just realize it's silly anxiety and it's your bodies defense mechanism. You have to relax yourself through this time and not feed into the fear.

I'm going through a similar situation right now, and it's hard but we're BOTH gonna get through this!

Thank you Chris. I get that relaxing and not feeding into the fear is key but how? I mean practically?

Shall I exercise, watch tele and carry on doing all the things I enjoy all whilst this ‘motor’ buzzes like a motorbike engine all day long and just pretend to ignore it?

Fighting the anxiety takes a lot of energy, just telling it to do it’s thing and you don’t care takes away its power. Get on with your day, ignore it and then wait for it to give up!

The best thing to do during this time is to continue on life as normal. Do everything youd do on a normal day. Do not let the anxiety consume your day to day life, even when it's terrifying and you think you can't do it, know that it will go away and you WILL feel better.

Something I do when my body is buzzing and my adrenaline is pumping fast is I sit myself down in a quiet room and tell myself it's just anxiety. That nothing is mentally or physically wrong, and that I will feel good soon. If you want to pm me, we can talk about our problems and be miserable together :p best of luck!

There is an audio meditation called “detachment from overthinking“ found on YouTube. That teaches you how to focus and gain control over  negative thoughts. And anxiety.

Another one is called mindfulness meditation guided 10 minutes. Very short but very effective.

There are hundreds of other meditations on there that are for anxiety, sleep, depression, etc. they completely relax my mind, body and symptoms! I like to use earbuds for a better effect. Go somewhere where it is quiet and you won’t be disturbed.

I still exercise even one I have vibration or any symptom of anxiety.

I know that a strong healthy body will have a stronger immune system to fight off anxiety .
