Overwhelming fear of having a seizure. Advice?

I'm a 20 year old female who has never once had a seizure, yet for about a month or two, I've become increasingly more afraid of having one.

I get very uncomfortable around flashing lights or videos on social media that are sped up, and I even recently had to walk out of a movie theater because the film was fast-paced at certain scenes and made me very uncomfortable.

I also suffer from anxiety, which has made my life very miserable. I am not taking any medication, but am receiving counseling.

I could really use some advice for coping with this as I hate letting anything moving too fast make me feel really uncomfortable thinking it could cause a seizure.

If you are having problems when dealing with flashing lights etc and you are uncomfortable talk to your GP and they can check you out

You could also go to an opticion and have your eyes checked, it will help as well if you explain how you are feeling. You are generally supposed to have your eyes checked once a yea and sometimes every two years. The test is very extensive.

See how you go

I've been dealing with the exact same problem. Flashing lights or bright lights make me really nervous because I'm afraid that'll trigger a seizure. I've also been waking up shaking uncontrollably for a few seconds, but I've read those are called myoclonic jerks. Which are some sort of muscle spasms. Fear of having seizures is the main cause of my anxiety . I'm in the same boat as you.
