Severe jaw pain

Hi ladies

I haven't posted anything for a little bit. One thing that is ongoing is my tmj problems. My jaw is constantly throbbing. My ears feel like they are full and being pulled. My face tingles and the back of my head and temples constantly feel pressure. I've got it all the time.

I've been relaxing my jaw, eating soft foods and putting heat on my jaw.

It's so painful any ideas?

I have the ear thing going on its like so much pressure I hear me talk throgh it and sounds like a ocean sound and it hurts it's like it will ache for a few days and then all the pressure deal. Everytime I see my GP she says oh you got fluid behind your ears BUT doesnt say how to get it out. One doctor a long time ago told me to hold my nose  closed and blow through my nose while holding it closed until the ears pop and to do that like 100 times a day! The other day couldnt get air to go through at all kept doing it and now I can and the pressure has let up! Plus I use vicks vapor rub under nose at night what time my autistic son doesnt get a hold of it and plays with the bottle.

Has your dentist not recommended a night guard? I also have tmj and will not go to bed without it

Hi Michelle, I can sympathise with you as I too suffer from TMJ. I also find I get headaches and neck pain too. My doctor said a referral to a specialist won't help as they very rarely do anything, some guess it's get on with it.

Hi

It's not during the night it's during the day I've been holding my mouth tense. It's become a habit I think. I'm thinking what I'm doing and trying to correct it. Thanks for your advice x

Hi Michelle

I'm sure you will have tried these possible solutions but thought just worth a mention.

Could an osteopath or chiropractor help. They would help with alignment.

A steam room at a spa may relieve pressure

A head massage

Have your wisdom teeth been checked

Cranio sacral therapy is interesting reading.

Hope you can find something that helps you soon, take care xx

Hi Masie

The cranio sacral therapy sounds interesting so I'm looking into that. I've seen a chiropractor and had massages. How are you? X
