I’ve had a couple small, flattish bumps the same colour as my skin on the back of my right hand for several years now, but more recently they’ve multiplied. Whereas before they were only found on the region of skin between my thumb and first finger, they’ve spread backwards up my hand, and there’s even one below my third finger and an inch up the middle.
I’m not too worried about them as they’re painless and aren’t a new development, I am however concerned that they are multiplying, and would just really like to know what they are.
Here’s a couple pictures, they’re quite hard to photograph, not showing up with flash at all:
Thanks for any help,
Caitlin

They look like a form of milia. Tiny clumps of Keratin and just appear on our skin as we get older....very common for them to appear on the backs of the hands. I have several myself. They are not dangerous. Dont try removing them ...they are particularly difficult to remove and may leave a reddish scar. Make sure you use sunscreen on the backs of your hands.
If they should become itchy, weepy, darken or just give you cause for concern then do see your doctor.
I have them too and 2 dermatologist told they're harmless , they come with age.
I also have them in the armpits along with skin tags , same for you ?
What's your age ?
Thanks for all your help, I'll stock up on sunscreen!
Thanks for the response! Whilst I do not have them in the armpits or skin tags, that's a relief to here; although I'm only 20, which potentially doesn't bode well for my future ageing...

just a piece of mind is this milia . its only on one hand but so embrassed of it as its ugly and noticeable and im only young . it doesnt seem to be going just getting more of it !!! any tips
i used to get these in grade 3 ish and i am now in grade 12 noticing they have come back what really helped me before was a form of manifestation where before bed every night i would imagine myself writing something down or opening a door and my hands be completely clear and with the bumps. Soon after they were gone :) i hope this helps
do you know what this was
I had about 20-30 of these small bumps around my knuckles when i was 9-11years old. my mum took me to a homeopathy guy (because dr just said "oh its harmless" - it wasnt, i was twisting my arm around to hide the back of my hand always!) and within about 8 months of taking certain vitamins and whatever the little pills were, and applying natural yoghurt to my hands, they went. so thankful. he took about 3 minutes to come up with this prescription, it meant i wasnt embarrassed of my hands anymore.
