I recently had this pimple-like bump appear on the head of my penis about 2 weeks ago. I immediately went to get checked and was told I am probably fine and shouldn't worry. Well it's still there and it's concerning me, I was told it was probably due to change in body wash but that just seems too simple to me. I tend to over worry when it comes to STD's and even though I was told I'm okay I just can't get over it. I've looked into symptoms for Herpes and it doesn't seem to look anything like that, but I think I have some of the symptoms such as nausea, headaches, and possibly a tingling sensation but I tend to assume the worse and don't know if I'm just working myself up or not. I don't know what to think, I was told it should be nothing to worry about but I just can't shake the feeling that I should be worried. Anyone have similar experiences or advice?
Edit: Can't seem to attach photo due to file size being too big. Is there a way to circumvent that?
*Edit: This is a picture of said bump. Hopefully.
Thanks for persisting in uploading the photo! Okay, were you sexually active immediately prior to this showing up? If so did you use a condom? When you state: " I was told it was probably due to change in body wash but that just seems too simple to me " - there is more than a grin of truth to the first part, but you are also correct in thinking that is too simple. If this is not sex related, and wearing a condom can be linked to the cause - what the essential is likely to be is potentially anything that contact the skin of the head and foreskin of the penis. So yes, shower gel / lotion / body wash, or even soaps can contribute to the cause - so also can be regular lubes or skin creams and baby oil that may be used for sex or masturbation. So, essentially, if you can for 4 or 5 weeks exclude everything from getting onto the head of your penis and your foreskin and see what happens - use water only and the inside of a clean hand to wash the area and make sure it is completely dry with a clean towel. The alternative I would try first is to dab a little liquid antiseptic on it 2 or 3 times a day for 2 or 3 days and see if the bump disappears ..... I will also post a web page search term for you to look for that considers everything lumps and bumps on the penis (we cannot post a web address) . - Penis spots - should I be worried - net doctor
it has since disappeared, but a second one seems to have appeared but looks just like the first. I have been fairly sexually active when I was younger, but as of recently before the appearance of the bump the answer would be no. maybe 3-4 months since I was sexually active last and I used a condom. the bump doesn't give off any pain or sensation of anything really. I will try avoiding said body wash and see how well that goes. I will update further if anything changes.
Okay, thanks for the reply and update .......
im having the same problem , have you found out anything about it ?
