Hi ladies
Its me again freaking out.
I have posted this before but its back again.
My tongue feels swollen with a burning sensation. It doesnt ĺook swollen. It keeps sticking to the roof of my mout. My throat feels tight in fact my whole mouth and throat feels weird.
I constantly feel like my throat is going to close up and i wake up at night ferling like something is stuck there.
I have to say i had a gastroscopy a year ago but nothing in my throat.
I had half my thyroid removed a year ago also but thyroid function normal.
I do know about burning mouth syndrome but does it affect the throat?

Really hate this.
Anyone experienced this x
Hi Michelle! Yes I have experienced the feeling like I've swallowed something that won't go down like food is stuck in my throat. I have also experienced burning in the roof of my mouth. These are all menopause and anxiety related issues. It can be alarming. Try to relax by taking some deep breaths. It should subside on its own. Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Thank you for replying.
You would think being peri and going through hell for 10 years i would be used to all this mess.
Im just post so i guess still got a rollercoaster ride in store x
Hi Michelle - I haven’t experienced the burning mouth (just every other burning body part) but I have experienced the feeling like you can’t swallow (even water) & then the anxiety kicks in & it’s a complete flip out. I had this happened to me once in Los Angeles rush hour traffic & I was in the farthest lane from the side of the road & I almost got out of my car & was ready to leave it stuck there because I was so panicky. So I feel your pain. These symptoms are completely real & unless you have experienced it, people don’t get it - right now I have constant dry mouth & dry nasal passages that are so dry I have to constantly suck on something to keep my tongue from cracking - so bizarre! Take care -
