For several months now i’ve had a very small bump on the underside of the left side of my penis head. I think earlier, a couple months ago it might’ve been very slightly itchy, but just slightly and just occasionally. I didn’t really pay any attention to it, until I started to and then it was all I could do to not think about it.
So then I started checking myself out more closely recently and noticed another bump on the right side, and that’s when I decided to go to the dermatologist. I never felt the other bump on the right side, I only found it while looking for it.
Today, the dermatologist looked at it and said the left side looks somewhat unremarkable, But that the one on the right side, he couldn’t decide whether it was a genital wart or thought it could be Lichen Planus. He sought a second opinion within the office with a female doctor, and they both looked and discussed and thought they believed it closely resembled lichen planus with a little white striation they thought they both saw.
So, they did a small biopsy or tissue sample of the one on the right side and send it off for testing. Of course I’m sweating it and stressing about it now. I noticed tonight that the very small spot they did the biopsy on seems to be leaking a little clear fluid because I dried it off and gone back and looked at it again and the area is a little wet again. Of course, like a dummy, I didn’t follow their instructions they handed me to leave the Band-Aid off and I took it off and took a shower tonight Now I’m following their instructions for the wound care which told me to put some Neosporin and a Band-Aid back on it.
I’ve Internet researched ad nauseum, concerned that it was herpes, or general warts etc.… Now that I’m reading about Lichen Planus, maybe I actually wish it was genital warts, as 20 years ago navy doctors froze one off the top of my penis. Lichen planus sounds very scary!
Please look at my photos and give me your thoughts regarding what you think it could be as my biopsy results won’t come back for a week and I’m seriously sweating it!
Good morning. I looked at your pictures and I looked up Lichen Planus and the pictures that they had looks nothing like the ones on your penis. I think they look like some kind of pimple. Don't worry you will be fine. You did the mest thing for you by going to the doctor Take care Ken
I'm not sure why you say Lichen Planus sounds very scary. It isn't! I've had it a few times now. - Seems to recur every 3 years or so. It has affected my penis, yes, but also underside of forearms, and inside the mouth (dentist even sent me to mouth specialist who took a biopsy and Lichen Planus was confirmed). Compared with the idea that it could have been cancer, Lichen Planus was a welcome diagnosis! It takes its course and disappears after a few weeks / months without treatment.
Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I just read too many stories about lichen planus spreading all over the body....
If it is indeed lichen planus, since I've had one spot for months and now 2 locations, is it likely to stay minimal or spread?
To those that have had it, does yours itch? The one on the left might have itched just a bit, but the other doesn't itch at all..
Has anyone read about the connection with lichen planus and Hep C?.. That is worrisome..
Hi, have the result of the biopsy indicated what it could be? I have something that looks similar to yours.
Hey Randy, I have almost identical bumps in almost the same location on the penis...what were the result of the biopsy if I may ask? I'm low key freaking out as you once were and am just searching to learn more...thanks for your consideration.
Did you ever find out what this was? Have the same and I’m s**tting myself
Did you ever find out what this was. I have thE same and very worried
Did you ever find out? Have the same, very worried
i have something like whats on the right
I've not had nor experienced your issues but have similar and different. My symptoms are striated 1.8in. wide rectangular lessions on the hood that run from the upper-middle of the head, down to the rim. kind of like dry skin or chapped lip cracks. Other issues are a wrinkly skin around the hood edge giving it a semi- prunish /swollen mushroom look. finally there are a few small rounded lessions, semi-crater in appearance, flakey and red in center but shallow. I've had this for a week now and plan to see my PCP. For relief of the tenderness and lessions I have been using TRIAMCINOLONE. ACETONIDE ointment. it seems to help in reduction of lessions and general condition. Something to help til I get better diagnosis. Also FYI.... have not had sexual interaction of any kind In 4 or 5 months so it's not STD related.
i have one the same and I am not sure what it is...quite bothering though, no pain or itch. Just a white patch but pretty visible when wet. it looks like a skin that has been scratch.
hey did you ever find out what it could be
