I just found out last week that I have it & I don't know how long I have had it. I have never had a painful feeling down there at all.i found out From doing my regular pep getting tested for everything. & this is a new doctor that I started seeing last year, so I don't know if I have ever been tested before. I am so embarrassed nobody knows, I can't seem to want to tell anybody not even the person I think I got it from. I have lost weight since I found out. I am getting depressed & I stress all day, can't eat, can't sleep.. when will I get back to myself?
Hey, you must be careful stress can cause out break. I know the feeling I just found out yesterday. I came home and took it out on my spouse.. We thought a theses on would spice things up... Well that was over a year ago. And I am just now getting it...Dr. Said, you need to have a conversation with your spouse. So it started of course with deniel...I don't even want him in the same bed with me..it makes me nauseated beyond belief...
Sorry to hear about that. However, it really is not as bad as you are thinking. I know it might not feel that way.
Remember, you are not the only one in this situation. In fact, about 20% of people have genital herpes. And thats just what we know. 85% of people dont even know they have it. The fact that you haven't had any symptoms seems like a good thing, as your odds of transmitting it are much lower. I know it seems like the end of the world, but trust me it is not. Things could be WAYYY worse.
This news definitely sucks to hear... but time heals ALL wounds.
The worst thing about herpes is just the stigma around it. You are not dying, not even suffering from an outbreak for that matter. The only way you have been affected so far is just by KNOWING you have it.
Have safe sex, take medication if you want, and tell a desired partner before its too late. Besides that, keep enjoying life!
Yes, I am totally in denial.... I just broke up with my man because of he cheated on me so I cheated on him & that is the reason I got tested for everything when I went to the doctor....So hopefully I will be up to talking to him soon but I just cant get the nerve up to call him
I have got a book about it so I can read up on it but you are so true I could be a lot worse!! Time does heals things so hopefully as time goes on, I will get back to myself. But as of last week it seem like my world have ended. But I am going start medication

Remember that and that you're only hurting yourself by not letting it rest ♡ Too know that stress will do a lot to your body and i really believe that by focusing my attention on only that made me insane.
Research the virus yourself and its effects but know that ALL of our bodies are completely different and we will all react differently to a virus that does different things to bodies each time.

How were you diagnosed? False positives can occur with some tests and not all doctors know this, etc. Find out the type of test and your results (need the numbers) before worrying about this.

My doctor did a scraping of the blisters to get a swab for testing. When I really saw it I started to panic. My told body was in another world..... I became nauseated beyond belief. I am still trying to come to grips with this....is it possible it will destroy my marriage.
Best to ask for a copy of your lab report. The numbers indicate your antibody levels. Above a certain number, it's said to be positive.

My doctor said anything above a 1.5 on the serum test, that i had, showed you were positive. Fourteen was my number but she said there was no scale

The IgG test result number is a rough indicator of your IgG antibody level. Unfortunately, the number can only be used to indicate whether a person is positive, negative or equivocal. A high number, like 14, is a strong and conclusive positive, but it doesn't tell you much else, since people produce and maintain different levels of IgG antibody following full production (usually reached at 3-4 months after infection).
The only time IgG can be used to determine recency of infection is within the first month, possibly 2 months, of infection, so it's usage in that regard is pretty limited. A brand new infection, as confirmed by a first outbreak that swab tests positive, which is also IgG negative is a new infection (detectable antibodies yet to be produced). A rising IgG during the first few weeks of infection is also indicative of a new infection. That's why I encourage people to test for IgG asap after a first outbreak, especially where they want to know if it's new or a long-time latent infection.
