Was finally about to get out bed and walk around with walked... nailed it... did stairs too. ... asked could I use my cane aince that what I had when I came in here... nope..... I'm sore and the meds are not helping but I will get there.... gotta by ready for summer league got a lot of people to put in their place
If you're already doing stairs, you're doing very well! Keep taking the meds; they do take the edge off a bit. In a week or two, you will have less pain. By week two, I was putting analgesic gel on my sore bits and it worked. Unfortunately, you will have to live with a little pain for a while; I'm 4 weeks post-op and some days hurt more than others. I'm still on crutches. Tried a cane this morning but am clearly not ready for it.
Sounds like you are doing well. Good luck
i am 7 weeks, now coming into my 8th week, and i still get an ache in the thigh, mainly at night when i try and roll onto my side, i still take a pain killer at night time because this also helps me sleep too. i can walk round the house without stick and crutches, but need either when i am outside xx
I have done really good. It's just been about two months that I have had some stiffness and some pain. I guess I am worried because it is five years since I had surgery. I get worried afraid that something has gone wrong with the imllant. I don't think I could handle another surgery
thank you. I am hoping things are still okay with the implant
Marilyn,
At 9 weeks, I still get an ache around the scar when I turn, so only do it for a short while, but I find rolling onto it helps the scar tissue underneath become softer.
No pain killers since I dropped Tramadol at 1 week - I hated the stuff!
Around the house, 50%-60% without stick this week .... outside with one stick still (even went to London to see a show for my wife's birthday treat on 30th). Striding out a bit now, which pulls the scar, and seems to do it some good.
Sadly, I have to go back in next week to have it put right - a bit like drawing Monopoly card 'Go directly to jail' - so at ten weeks post-op I will have to start from square one again.
