Hi!
I’m in a similar situation.
I had a balanitis in 2019, after that, the skin changed, becoming dry and I noticed a discoloration of the penis head, expecially after the use of a steroid cream that gave me only damage. I’ve been to 11 doctors in one year.
1 talked about lichen sclerosus because of the dryness (I scared out so much and went to other doctors)
9 excluded me lichen sclerosus and talked about a passed infection that left damage, plus the steroid cream (prescribed by the first doctor) that only harmed me.
1 doctor excluded lichen and talked about a possible infection.
Some tips:
- Steroid cream made my situation worse
- Antibiotics (took on my own) and antifungal pills - made the situation better (with less dryness)
The main diagnosis in my situation was a traumatic balanitis post infection.
At the moment I took every test and all come back negative (bacterial, fungal, herpes, HPV and all SDT)
The last doctor said that the infection was in the prostate and, in fact I had prostatitis.
My symptoms:
- Dryness
- Slight discoloration (now seems less)
- Watery semen
- Slight pain under the balls and inside the penis after ejaculation (now faded)
NO ITCHIN, NO BURNING
Now some questions for you:
- What the doctors thinks you have?
- You had a balanitis before?
- Have you taken some SDT tests?
- Have you taken some skin swab?
- Do you have prostatitis?
- Your semen is normal?
- Your skin is DRY?
- You have narrowing of the foreskin?
Thank you for responding!
Both dermatologist and urologist said they didn’t see any irregularities. My latest visit to the second dermatologist thought it is because of limited blood flow that it changes colour. Seems kind of odd.
Never had a balanitis, never had a STD. Haven’t gotten a skin swab, but I pushed the dermatologist for a biopsy, but they wouldn’t do it because “it could do more harm than good to your glans”.
My symptoms don’t match that of prostatitis. Semen is normal.
What I have developed lately is some sort of non-itchy reocurring eczema on foreskin, other than that my foreskin is still flexible and feels normal.
Understand
Yes, about the biopsy, my doctors said the same.
Only the last doctor (the 5th dermatologist) talked about a possible infection.
Lately I’m starting feeling a strange itch in the pubic area, but not on the penis, and the skin seems a little bit red. I’m wondering if it could be a yeast infection, mild, but resistent.
Anyway, how is your eczema on the foreskin?
Could u post a photo?
I would suggest you to take some tests for STD, urine and sperm with research of bacterial and fungal infection, with mycolplasma and ureaplasma hominis too, plus a skin swab of the glans, just to rule out some local infection.
Anyway the biopsy, if not made good (I mean the right place and the right analysis) could be useless and only do harm, as doctors have suggested me.
